As the First Seal is broken by the Lamb of God the first rider comes forth on a White Horse. Many try to make this rider out to be Jesus. There are many reasons this is not Jesus. First, Jesus opens the seal; He cannot be on the horse at the same time. The rider is carrying a bow in his hand, a small weapon, when Jesus rides in on a white horse in Revelation 19:11, He will be armed with His sword, His Word. This rider brings “peace” to the earth. But this is a very short-lived peace, as we will soon see when the second horse comes forth.

As we enter Chapter 7 we are in the period of time known as the Tribulation. During this time the Church, including us, is not on earth. By the Church, I mean true believers in Christ. At some point between Chapters 3 and 4 the Church is called home, along with the Holy Spirit. At that point there is no representation of God on earth. At that moment, there are no believers in the world.

As we enter Chapter 4 of the Revelation, we need to look at a verse we looked at in the beginning of this series – Revelation 1:19 – “Write, therefore, what you have seen, what is now and what will take place later.” (Jesus is Speaking NIV)

I believe more people might pray more if they realized just how valuable and powerful their prayers really are. Whether you are a brand new Christian or a seasoned veteran, your prayers carry weight. God always hears your prayers, and they are handled very carefully.

The Book of The Revelation is the Revelation of Jesus Christ as Lord of lords and King of kings. Too many times too many people either ignore or purposefully avoid The Revelation. It seems to many to be a dark foreboding place that cannot be understood by anyone. But the opposite is true. The Revelation is full of blessings and knowledge we should have as we go through our walk with God.

Let’s begin today in Revelation 1:7-8 where John is telling us that one day Jesus will be “coming in the clouds and every eye will see Him.” That will be quite a feat, for everyone on earth to see Him since we are on a round globe. How will that happen? This is one of the first questions that arises in The Revelation that might not be answered until it is seen. But, if anyone can do it, Jesus can.

“The book of The Revelation is the ultimate action thriller. Anyone who loves books filled with adventure and excitement will certainly love this book. The Revelation contains drama, suspense, mystery, passion and horror. It speaks of unprecedented economic collapse, and of the ultimate war of human history. It describes natural disasters rivaled in intensity only by the worldwide Flood of Noah’s day, as God will pour out His wrath on the sin-cursed earth. It speaks of the political intrigues that will lead to the ascendancy of the most evil and powerful dictator the world has ever known. Finally, and most terrifying of all, it describes the final judgment and the sentencing of all rebels, angelic and human, to eternal torment in hell. The book of The Revelation is thus a book of astonishing drama, horror, and pathos. Yet, amazingly, it is also a book of hope and joy with a happy ending, as sin, sorrow and death are forever banished.” – Dr. John McArthur[1]
